Before You Begin

A long, gentle tradeskill chain run in tandem with the Tradeskill Timeline - every part is "harvest a set of nodes, return to Qho." Buying never updates the steps.

Tradeskill-gated finale. Anyone can finish Parts I–IX, but The Return requires a level-90 tradeskill class (and a fresh visit to Thurgadin after hitting 90), and Beyond The Grave requires the same plus completion of The Return. Level your craft to 90 if you want the upgraded pony.

A Gathering Obsession

Start: Qho Augren, The Village of Shin, Isle of Mara  -35, 11, -109

Qho's collecting habit has tipped into obsession. He'll happily teach a budding gatherer the trade - provided you keep his shelves stocked.

  • Harvest 5 of each (buying does not work) in any tier 1 zone:
    • severed elm · jumjum · black coffee bean · rawhide leather pelt · root
    • baubbleshire cabbage · raw white tea leaf · frog leg · sunfish
  • Tier-1 zones include Darklight Wood, Greater Faydark (Nursery / central), The Forest Ruins, Oakmyst Forest, The Peat Bog, Timorous Deep and Frostfang Sea (which drops every item on the list). Carrots, oranges & river fish can be gathered in The Commonlands.
  • Return to Qho Augren.

Reward: at least 24s 40c · tradeskill XP · achievement XP. Opens the saga.

A Gathering Obsession, Part II

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  recommended ~20 gathering skill

  • Harvest 10 of each in any tier 2 zone (Antonica, The Commonlands, the western half of Darklight Wood, parts of Greater Faydark, Frostfang Sea):
    • severed maple · murdunk orange · Antonican coffee bean · tanned leather pelt · tuber strand
    • raw carrot · raw black tea leaf · raw crab meat · freewater grouper
  • Return to Qho Augren.

Reward: at least 33s 11c · tradeskill XP · achievement XP.

Tier 3 · Steppes & Nektulos

A Gathering Obsession, Part III

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  recommended ~90 skill

  • Harvest 10 of each from The Thundering Steppes:
    • severed ash · Steppes mountain bean · belladonna root · rough agate · seafury mackerel · sweet onion · gold cluster · pig meat · lion meat
    • Coldwind Point works well - bounce between the centaur and gnoll areas; fish at the Docks.
  • Harvest 10 of each of the same list from Nektulos Forest (different node names, same resources).
  • Return to Qho Augren.

Update conflict: nodes may not update while Tiffin for Duggin (Thundering Steppes docks) is in your journal - finish it first, then this quest updates cleanly.

Reward: at least 26s 52c · tradeskill XP · achievement XP.

Tier 4 · Enchanted Lands & Zek

A Gathering Obsession, Part IV

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  level 36 + recommended ~140 skill

  • Harvest 15 of each from Enchanted Lands:
    • severed briarwood · green tea leaf · tussah root · rough opaline · shark fin · cucumber · velium cluster · griffon meat · bear meat
  • Harvest 15 of each of the same list from Zek, the Orcish Wastes.
  • Return to Qho Augren.

Reward: at least 36s 41c · tradeskill XP · achievement XP. Tip: pair with the Tradesman Service quest, but stock extra severed briarwood for both.

Tier 5 · Feerrott & Rivervale

A Gathering Obsession, Part V

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  level 38 + recommended ~190 skill

  • Harvest 20 of each in The Feerrott (the Green Blood River Station is a good farm spot):

  • Harvest 20 of each of the same list in Rivervale.
  • Return to Qho Augren.

Tier 6 · Sinking Sands & the desert

A Gathering Obsession, Part VI

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  recommended ~240 skill

  • Harvest 25 of each in any tier 6 zone (The Sinking Sands, The Pillars of Flame or The Lesser Faydark):
    • severed sandalwood · artichoke · Maj'dul coffee bean · caiman meat · sabertooth meat (best in Pillars of Flame) · prickly pear · darjeeling tea leaf · conger eel · tiger shrimp · stonehide leather pelt
  • In Sinking Sands, bounce the two Croc Camps  -1326, -226, -583  -1210, -216, -242 for land nodes, and the two Croc Caves  -1223, -211, -332  -1334, -226, -637 for mining & fishing.
  • Return to Qho Augren. Get to 300+ in every skill before the next part.

Update conflict: Desserts from the Desert shares these tier-6 nodes and grabs updates first - pause it if a node won't credit this quest.

  • Harvest 30 of each in any tier 7 zone (Bonemire, Barren Sky, Tenebrous Tangle or Loping Plains):
    • rough lumbered rosewood · squash · soaring coffee bean · ravasect meat · aviak meat · xegonberry · sweet chai tea leaf · flying fish · hanging root · horned leather pelt
    • Barren Sky (the Isle of Awakening) can supply every requirement - work Bixie/Gazer Isles for flora and Tenebrous Landing for fish.
  • Return to Qho Augren. Reach 400+ in all skills before starting the next part.

Tier 8 · Tradeskill Signature zones

A Gathering Obsession, Part VIII

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  recommended ~340 skill

At last the obsession reaches reborn Kunark - Qho craves the Sarnak homeland's bounty, gathered from the great green expanses of the Dragon Ring's continent.

  • Harvest 35 of each across the Tradeskill Signature zones - Kylong Plains, Fens of Nathsar, Kunzar Jungle, Jarsath Wastes or Moors of Ykesha (node names listed are the Kylong Plains variants):
    • redwood lumber (Calcified Timber) · raw cranberry, Cabilis cocoa bean, raw succulent petal & Torsis tea leaf (Kylong Briar)
    • rough kunzite & deklium cluster (Ornamental Geode) · barracuda & king prawn (Southshore School)

A Gathering Obsession, Final Errand

Start: Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109

For all his collecting, one prize has eluded Qho. Track down a single rare Kunark root and the first true reward of the saga is yours.

  • Bring a mantrap root to Mei Ling Ventur  12, 14, -75 in The Village of Shin.
    • The mantrap root is a rare harvest from germinating roots in the Kylong Plains - gather it yourself, buy it from the broker, or pull one from your bank stash.

Reward: the Cloak of the Harvester (grants bonuses while gathering) · tradeskill XP · status.

Sundered Frontier → Velious

The Return Of A Gathering Obsession

Start: visit Thurgadin at TS 90, then Qho Augren  -35, 11, -109  ·  needs a level-90 tradeskill class

His shelves overflowing, Qho finally wins permission to leave the village - and ropes you into escorting him across Velious to see the world he has only ever collected.

  • Zone into Thurgadin, City of the Coldain (entrance off Thurgadin Harbor in Great Divide) after reaching tradeskill 90 to trigger Qho's mail, then hail him in the Village of Shin.
  • Gather 50 of each from The Sundered Frontier / The Stonebrunt Highlands: sumac lumber · kejekan palmfruit · lapsang tea leaf · Marr cherries · caynar nuts · amber · quicksilver cluster · bamboo shoots · giant octopus meat · seahorse roe · mottled pelts · titanium ore. Bring them to Qho.
  • Speak to his mother Lian Augren  -52, 11, -112, then hail Qho so he follows you.
  • Escort Qho through Great Divide & Thurgadin, hailing him at each stop:
    • Pick a Windswept Frostflower on the ridge near Fina's Retreat  -1300, -511, -2124.
    • Show him Remembrance Park in Thurgadin  550, -288, 460.
    • Harvest a Goahmari Herb at Goahmari Village  327, -15, 567.
    • Buy a Thurgadin Souvenir Snowglobe from Merchant Hagus in Icewell Keep  338, -292, 245.
  • Take Qho home and hail Lian Augren on the Isle of Mara.

Reward: at least 35s 94c · the Artisan's Pack Pony spell (summon a pony that auto-gathers common materials from a chosen tier).

A Gathering Obsession Beyond The Grave

Start: Qho Augren, The Village of Shin  -35, 11, -109  ·  needs TS 90 + The Return complete

The collector's obsession outlasts even him. One last commission carries the saga past the grave - and rewards the gatherer who sees it through with the finest companion the trade can offer.

  • Available only after finishing The Return Of A Gathering Obsession with a level-90 tradeskill class; pick the capstone errand up from Qho Augren.
  • Fulfil his final harvesting request, gathering the high-tier resources he names and returning them to the Village of Shin. (See the EQ2i quest page for the exact resource list, which has shifted with later updates.)

Reward: the Artisan's Fully Trained Pack Pony - the upgraded pony that can be sent out for common, rare and seasonal materials (seasonal options appear only while a live event is active). Completes the saga.
